Description
Commissioned for the 2008 Annual Conference of the Association of Anglican Musicians. The distinguished Episcopal church musician Gerre Hancock has written a lyrical mass setting with parts for both choir and congregation. The congregational part is always doubled by one of the choral voices making it possible to put together immediately. All four movements are based on the same musical material, and the "Kyrie" is texted in both English or Greek (the remaining movements are in English, Rite II language). Accessible for choirs and congregations, and gives the church options for congregations that want a newer setting of the traditional mass texts.
