Description
"Beginning with a brass fanfare introduction, this festive setting stays close to the standsrd harmony while varying the brass and vocal parts with each successive stanza. Stanza one features a horn descant and timpani interjections while trumpets, trombone, tuba, and organ play SATB harmony. Brass and timpani are tacet on stanza two, which is for soprano descant, unison congregation, and organ. Stanza three, marked 'warmly,' incorporates a lyrical dialogue between the two trumpets and horn above unison congregation and organ, bringing in the low brass for the last phrase. Fanfare figures in all brass parts and timpani, as well as a slightly varied soprano descant, return in stanza four for a triumphant conclusion." --Cross Accent, Sprint 2018
