Review
"If one is looking for an interesting piece to show off a festival or horizontal trumpet stop, this piece may be it. It is of medium difficulty, with registration that can be adapted to larger or slightly smaller instruments. The piece has a nice contrasting section that gives some rhythmic interest. The main theme reappears several times, giving the work a rondo form." --The Journal of the Association of Anglican Musicians, February/March 2008

Description
This piece harnesses Phillips' inventive harmonic sensibility, his use of shifting meters, and his ability to create an interesting and inevitable structure to his compositions. "Festival Piece" is an exciting big organ solo for festival services or recitals. Moderately difficult, but definitely worth learning.
