Description
These three short movements for oboe or trumpet and organ make an excellent worship suite for Epiphany -- each based on a familiar hymn of the season. The first movement is a calm prelude on THE WISE MEN ("Saw You Never, in the Twilight"), the second movement a stately meditation on MORNING STAR ("Brightest and Best"), and the third movement is a playful dance on PUER NOBIS ("What Star Is This?"). The organ part is also playable on the piano, and the oboe or trumpet part is well within the ability of a student or amateur player. (A Bb version of the instrumental part is also included for trumpet.)
