Jayson Engquist

Jayson Rod Engquist is the organist at congregation Kol Ami in White Plains, N.Y. and for many years was the Director of Music at Norfield Church in Weston, Ct. He is the founder and President of the United Church of Christ Musicians' Association and is active in the Stamford chapter of AGO. He was an instructor of organ at Yale University from 1994-1996 and has had extensive choral singing experience. He has had numerous anthems published, including 3 published by Selah: The 23rd Psalm, Flower of Love, and O Gracious Light. Engquist was born in Fairmont, Minnesota in 1956. He earned a Bachelor of Music degree from St. Olaf College and a Master of Music from Yale University School of Music. He was the recipient of many awards while at Yale and was the winner of the 1992 composition competition sponsored by The Hymn Society in the United States and Canada, for the hymn tune Weston New.
