  Choral music

Looking for the perfect choral piece? Take a look at our listing of anthems by church season, voicing, difficulty, instruments used, or author or composer. If you use the lectionary in your church, you can find anthems to match the lectionary readings, or you can search our choral catalog by scriptural references. We have special listings of pieces for your children's choir, adult Two-part or SAB choirs, and we've sorted through the pieces that require an exceptional church choir or university choir to perform them. You can also sign up for our Choral Preview Plan to keep on top of the best choral music being published today, or look at our best sellers. You can also find a listing of all our choral publications listed alphabetically by title.

  Organ & Piano

We have a useful series of organ publications in print, including collections and solos for the church seasons; a popular series of Hymn Intonations, Harmonizations & Preludes by the likes of Richard Proulx, V. Earle Copes, Alfred V. Fedak, and Austin C. Lovelace; and recital literature for the more venturesome organists. We even have an instructional video, The Art & Craft of Playing Hymns, that will inspire your hymn playing (it's had some great reviews). You can view our organ publications by composer, church season, or hymn tunes used.

Selah is looking for more quality piano solos useful for worship, but check out Robin Nixon's When Jesus Wept and Russell Schulz-Widmar's Procession

  Hymnody

Selah has published many significant hymnal collections, and we publish the best of what is being written today. Look to our two hymnal supplements or our individual author collections for substantive hymns that are genuine, fresh, sometimes startling, and that always have something to say to Christians in the late 20th century. Licensing these hymns for use in your church is generally quite simple and inexpensive, so don't let that stop you from showing your church that hymnody is a living art and craft.

If you want to delve into all the issues surrounding congregational singing, there's no better resource than Hymnology Annual, a journal devoted to the study of hymnody and song used in worship, edited by Dr. Vernon Wicker.
Hymnolgy Annual is edited by Vernon Wicker.
