Anthem text
O freedom, lovely in my eyes,
To thee I'm bound in duty,
In thee I find eternal bliss,
Thy ways are the ways of beauty.
O freedom! O freedom! O freedom!

As fawns upon the mountain height,
Or eagles in their flight,
To be in perfect liberty
My soul longs to be free.

–William C. Brackett, 1835
Watervliet, N.Y., Shaker community
