William Bradley Roberts
William Bradley Roberts is Professor Emeritus of Church Music at Virginia Theological Seminary in suburban Washington, D.C. He came to Virginia Seminary after service for five years as Director of Music Ministry at St. John's, Lafayette Square, Washington, D.C. Prior to that he was in similar positions at St. Philips in the Hills, Tucson, Ariz., and in Louisville, Ky., and Newport Beach, Calif. While in the Los Angeles area, Dr. Roberts sang with the Los Angeles Master Chorale. He is active in the work of the Episcopal Church, having served as Chairs of both the Standing Commission on Church Music and the Leadership Program for Musicians Serving Small Congregations (LPM). For LPM he wrote the curriculum materials "Voice Training for Choirs," and "A Philosophy of Church Music." Roberts is active as a leader of workshops and conferences in the areas of choral music, Taizé spirituality, liturgy, and children's choir. He has done sabbatical study with Alice Parker and at the French monasteries of Taizé and Solesmes. In addition to Selah he is also published with Augsburg-Fortress, Paraclete, GIA, St. James Music Press, and Church Publishing.
